- 廠商標示錯誤或是廣告不實而使得名為中藥的藥物名不符實而讓人誤以為中藥不好 :神奇紫草膏頂多和中藥的紫草同為Boraginaceae紫草科，並不是中藥紫草的基源(快樂小藥師):中藥紫草(硬紫草)的基源:

- Lithospermum officinale Linnaeus var. erythrorhizon Maximowicz日本宮崎產紫草之根或是
